911 Civic Signs PDF Print E-mail

Why should you have a   911   Civic Sign?

Seconds can make the difference between life and death in an emergency.  Civic numbers make it easier for police, firefighters and paramedics to find you as quickly as possible when trouble strikes.

Lack of clearly posted civic numbers is one of the most significant contributors to delays in emergency response, but it also one of the cheapest and easiest to fix.

If you do not know your civic address number, call the Civic Addressing Coordinator at 584-2255

Order your civic signs from the Bridgetown Lions Club. Call Lion Bliss at 584-3983 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Cost:   Single sided, $15; Two Single sided, $20; Double sided, $20

Tips for posting a civic number:

  • Use Arabic numerals, not Roman numerals – 12 not XII
  • Do not use vertical numbering
  • Post at least 1.2 meters (four feet) above the ground
  • White numbers on a reflective blue background
  • Numbers should be easily read from the road when approaching from either direction
  • Sign posts should be within five metres (15 feet) of road
